(AFX UK Focus) 2010-01-18 13:37 UPDATE 1-EU sees positive outcome on Spanish bank fund

How to get proof of bank merger for car registration?

Hey. I bought a used car from a private party the other day, and I’m having problems registering it. The previous title had a lien on it under some bank in Missouri… during the life of the previous owner’s loan, that bank merged with Bank of America, SO, the lien was released by BofA. The DMV wouldn’t accept the title because of the discrepancy between the bank who had the lien and the bank who released the lien, unless I could prove that the banks merged. I went to Bank of America to try to get some sort of official looking “proof” of the merger, but they, literally, refused to help. It seems completely ridiculous that the DMV would assume that BofA would release a lien that they didn’t own… but regardless, does anyone have any suggestions on what options I might have?

How do I get a loan satifaction letter from the bank from years ago?

Loan was satified back in 1995. The bank has been bought, then merged and is now in the Bank of America monster and it’s showing up as a cloud on my title. I’m not getting anywhere. BTW, it’s a business loan. Thanks!
